Storms uproot trees in New Town
NEW TOWN, N.D. - Tuesday night’s storms caused some minor damage in the New Town area.
Marissa DeGroot shared these photos with Your News Leader of the 400 and 500 blocks of East Avenue in New Town.
The storms also knocked out power for a handful of Mountrail-Williams customers, though power lines have been repaired and power has been restored, according to a spokesperson for MWEC.
Disaster Emergency Coordinator, Warren Bogert, reports that three to four old mature trees were down that were 30 to 40 feet in height in New Town caused by strong winds associated with the storms that moved through at about 9:00 pm last night.
