Bisman Food Co-op closes its doors
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - UPDATE (1/8/22): Sunday morning, the BisMan Food Co-Op sent out an e-mail to its members saying the co-op is now “insolvent.” According to the e-mail, they will reopen on a date yet to be determined to liquidate all products.
The co-op says their primary lender will control all their assets and finances and they will look to that lender for guidance on when the store will be permanently closed. They say to look for e-mails and to check their social media for updates on hours of operation.
ORIGINAL STORY (1/7/22): A sign on the Bisman Food Co-op building says they have shut down. The doors are also locked despite their January 3 Facebook post saying they would be open this week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The group that’s provided locally grown food to the community has been struggling financially. Last week, members stated they’ve been working through logistics of the co-op’s future.
Due North GF Bakery and Goods, a former Bisman Food Co-op vendor, said on Facebook that they are saddened the co-op has “permanently closed their doors” and they are looking for other locations to sell products.
