Brian serves as the executive producer for The Noon Report and First News at Five. He has experience working in a variety of communications fields, starting his career at KFYR Radio in 2005 as an on-air announcer and producer. He continued working there part-time while also employed part-time as a reporter for the weekly newspaper, Mandan News. From 2008 to 2013 Brian served as the editor of the Mandan News, where he won several awards covering a spectrum of stories ranging from local government to sports to human interest.
Brian is captivated by people and telling their stories, and in his spare time pursues storytelling through a variety of creative ways, including theatre, music, fiction writing, and filmmaking. He has had original short plays performed both nationally and internationally, and in 2019 became a published children’s book author. Telling people’s stories is what drives his work, and he believes journalism can be used as a valuable tool to allow people to better understand one another.
